Like Pitt has already experienced with Rashad Weaver, it appears as though Virginia has lost a starting defender for the 2019 season.
Multiple outlets are reporting that starting cornerback Darrius Bratton suffered a knee injury during practice on Wednesday which will likely sideline him for the season. Virginia has yet to publicly address the injury.
During his first two seasons with the Cavaliers, Bratton played in 22 games, including 13 last season.
If Bratton misses the season, he would be able to receive a redshirt and have two seasons of eligibility remaining.
A week ago, Pitt announced the star defensive end Rashad Weaver tore his ACL (right knee) and would be sidelined for the 2019 season.
