Pitt continues to be a serious contender for one of the top point guards in the country.

Pittsburgh Sports Now is told that 2020 New York 4-star point guard R.J. Davis has set up four of his five official visits and one of those will be to Pitt.

Davis has decided to make upcoming visits to these schools: Pitt (September 20-22), Marquette (September 27-29) and North Carolina (October 11-13).

Earlier this summer, Davis made his first official visit to Patrick Ewing and the Georgetown Hoyas.

One thing to keep in mind, although he’s making official visits to these schools, he’s not eliminating other schools and this is not Davis’ final four.

When we talked to Davis’ coach, Patrick Massaroni, in March, he had this to say about his talented point guard.

“As a lone starter returning … we needed him to step up as our lone team captain and lead us both on and off the court,” said Massaroni. “From a basketball standpoint, I describe RJ as a winner and that’s what he is. He’s been ultra successful here not only on the court but also in the classroom and in the community.”

”This year, he really picked his time when he needed to score and also times when he needed to get his teammates involved as well and that’s what leaders and stars do.”
