Despite being just a junior, Elliot Donald holds an offer from most of the elite programs in college football.

The four-star recruit is rated as one of the top ten junior defensive lineman in the country and the No. 78 overall prospect by Rivals.

Monday night, Donald (6-foot-3, 255 pounds) decided to get an early jump on his recruitment by narrowing his long list of offers down to just eight programs.

Donald has decided that these are his Top 8 schools (in no order): Texas A&M, Notre Dame, West Virginia, Penn State, Ohio State, Michigan, LSU and Pitt.

With the obvious family ties in his uncle Aaron and one of his good friends, Nahki Johnson, having already committed there, most people believe that Pitt is the early favorite but that’s not necessarily the case.

Donald is intrigued by the big names of Ohio State, LSU and Notre Dame and will give all the finalists a fair chance. Plus, there’s a thought out there that Elliot might want to not endure the pressure and expectations that would be sure to follow him at Pitt.

Pat Narduzzi has been recruiting Donald since his freshman year and will do everything in his power to try and get him to stay home and field a defense front of Donald, Johnson and Baldwin three-star defensive tackle Dorien Ford.
