Jeff Capel Hosting 3 Visitors This Weekend

It’s a big weekend for both the Pitt Football and Men’s basketball team as Pat Narduzzi’s team hosts Virginia while Jeff Capel and his staff are hosting three important visitors.

As Pittsburgh Sports Now has been reporting on for the last few weeks, three major Pitt targets will be on campus for the weekend: 2020 4-star forward Earl Timberlake, 2020 4-star center Cliff Omoruyi and 2020 3-star forward Noah Collier. Timberlake and Collier are official visits while Omoruyi is unofficial.

Timberlake (6’6”, 215) is someone Capel has targeted and recruited heavily since taking over at Pitt. The problem is so has nearly every other major program in the country. The good news is that the Panthers are in Timberlake’s Top 7 and that he’s close friends with current Panthers Xavier Johnson and Trey McGowens.

Omoruyi (6’11”, 230) is a huge presence in the paint and while his offensive game is still developing, his rebounding and shot-blocking is at an elite level.  The stumbling block in this for Pitt could be John Calipari and Kentucky.

Collier (6’7”, 210) is one of the handful of stretch forwards that Capel is looking at adding to his roster. Collier is someone that can play both forward positions and has an offensive game both inside and outside.

Of the three players, Collier is the most likely to commit to Pitt.
