The Steelers have released Chartiers Valley and Duquesne alumnus Christian Kuntz, according to his agent.

Kuntz, a linebacker and long snapper, joined the Steelers late in training camp to push starting long snapper Kameron Canaday and provide depth at outside linebacker, where the team had a run of injuries.

The 25-year-old played in the team’s final three preseason games, recording five tackles and a sack in the preseason finale against Carolina on Thursday night.

Kuntz has also spent time with the Denver Broncos and Jacksonville Jaguars since graduating from Duquesne as a three-time All-American in 2017. He’s added long snapping to his repertoire since leaving college.

I stopped watching or caring about the NFL entirely when the whole kneeling for the national anthem garbage began. Good men died in staggering numbers for our freedom and I refuse to support ingrates that kneel for our national anthem. Now the league is involving itself with social justice whatever that’s supposed to be. I’ve seen plenty enough from the NFL to know I could care less about the league any longer. I watch college football exclusively these days.
