Without question, the performance level of Pitt’s offensive line could dictate how successful the 2019 season is for Pitt.
Plenty of newcomers like Carter Warren, Bryce Hargrove, Gabe Houy and Nolan Ulizio will be starting for the first time.
The always opinionated and honest Dave Borbely spoke to the media on Tuesday about concerns with the newcomers, the depth on the line, challenges that Virginia presents and even had some interesting things to say about Pitt starting defensive tackle Jaylen Twyman.
I actually believe although inexperienced with the exception of #67 that this current configuration of offensive linemen as a group has more overall natural ability and talent than groups in the recent past. If they can look past the inexperience as a group and rely on their natural ability I believe this group can come out and surprise and turn a lot of heads in the college football world. I hope they have that confidence because as a fan I have confidence in them.

You could have Nate Newton and Larry Allen in front of Pickett and he’d most likely still throw the ball over recievers heads or at the tips of their toes. I can almost guarantee Pickett would also toss one or two across his body back into the middle of the field to get picked off as well.
