Pitt hosted a number of junior and senior recruits at their opener including a lineman from Georgia.

2021 offensive tackle Jackson Walls (6’3”, 295) from Parkview High School in Lilburn, Georgia made an unofficial visit to Pitt.

Tonight, Pittsburgh Sports Now spoke to Walls who said this relationship with Pitt is fairly new.

“It really just started two weeks ago,” said Walls. “The Pitt football coaches, their offensive line coach and Pat Narduzzi, followed me on a Twitter and sent an email to my mom asking me to come up for an unofficial visit.”

A player from Pennsylvania making an unofficial visit is one thing but Walls is from Georgia so this was a major commitment on his part to make the long trip.

”I’ve been noticing Pitt and how they’ve been doing over the last couple of years and have been having great seasons. They’ve won their conference and have gotten big wins over schools like Miami and Clemson. I can see Pitt is a team on the rise and they interest me a lot.”

The trip to Pittsburgh was the first for Walls who was glad to be able to personally meet the staff and hopes this is the start of a long relationship.

“One of the main things that impressed me about the night was how in the 4th quarter everyone started to sing ‘Sweet Caroline’. That was one of my favorite parts. The atmosphere at kickoff was explosive. The fans all throughout the game were just great.”

Walls day started as he toured the facility, the weight room, the training room, the training lounge and this made a huge impression on him.

”You can tell that Pitt really cares about their players because those were top notch facilities. Those facilities were comparable to places like Georgia, Clemson, Notre Dame and other places I’ve gone. They’re really nice

The junior lineman is still waiting for his first Power Five offer but knows if it comes from Pitt, they’ll be a place he seriously considers.

”It would mean everything. I was walking around the city of Pittsburgh in the morning before heading out to Pitt’s training facility. I saw the campus and how beautiful the city is and thought that was a place that I could really see myself spending a lot more time.”

Thanks for the nice piece! BTW, Jackson is 6’5″. We had a great time and loved the campus and campus life. We look forward to returning.
