Important Night For Jeff Capel With 4-Star PG R.J. Davis

It’s a big day in college basketball recruiting with it being the first day of the live period and Jeff Capel isn’t wasting any time getting on the road to visit a top target.

Pittsburgh Sports Now has confirmed that Capel and his entire Pitt staff are in New York and will attend an open gym session for Stepinac 2020 4-star point guard R.J.Davis. PSN is told that the open gym will start at 3:45 PM.

It’s an even bigger night for Pitt because following the visit at his high school, Capel and his assistants will have an in-home visit with Davis and his parents.

Davis will have a busy week as the rest of the week, he’ll have in-home visits from Marquette (Tuesday), North Carolina (Wednesday) and Georgetown (next week). The news on these visits was first reported by Andrew Slater.

Although these in-home visits could be a sign that his recruitment is winding down, PSN is told that November is a likely timeline for Davis. At this point, we believe Pitt and Marquette are the teams to beat for Davis.
