Winning teams usually get honored and that was the case today with the Pitt volleyball team.

Pitt junior outside hitter Kayla Lund was named the ACC Co-Player of the Week after an outstanding performance this weekend at the ChampYinz Invitational. it was the second consecutive week that Lund won the award and fifth of her Panthers career. Lund is now the most-awarded player in Pitt volleyball history.

After the sixth-ranked Pitt Panthers swept Ohio State, Green Bay and Duquesne, Lund was named the MVP of the tournament, as she averaged 3.22 kills and 0.44 service aces per set over the three matches.

The Panthers are picking up where they left off last year as they’ve opened the season with six sweeps, the most since they opened the 1978 season with eight.

Pitt will have a huge test on Wednesday as they host No. 10 Oregon. That matchup from the Fitzgerald Field House will be televised on ESPNU.
