PITTSBURGH — For some of these guys, it was the third time knocking off a Top 15 team as an unranked football team.
But that doesn’t make the upset any less special.
In fact, this one was built on the back of the Pitt Special, the Panthers’ name for their trick play used to score a 3-yard touchdown on a reverse pass from wide receiver Aaron Mathews to quarterback Kenny Pickett.
After the itt beat No. 15 UCF, 35-34 at Heinz Field on Saturday, Alan Saunders of Pittsburgh Sports Now spoke to Pickett, Mathews, safety Damar Hamlin and center Jimmy Morrissey.
