Die-Hards: Is Pitt Still in the Running for 4-Star Donovan Johnson?

Published

on

Today we officially learned that 4-star guard R.J. Davis wouldn’t be coming to Pitt but he’s not the only highly rated 2020 recruit that Jeff Capel is currently talking with and trying to receive a commitment from.

Names such as Josh Hall, Earl Timberlake and Clifford Omoruyi are still possibilities. But what about Hillcrest Academy (Arizona) 4-star wing Donovan Johnson? His name had cooled down as a possibility for Pitt because many just assumed he’d be committing to either North Carolina or Arizona.

However, with the Tar Heels landing Davis today, does that put Pitt back as a possibility for the sharp-shooter?

Pittsburgh Sports Now caught up with Johnson on Monday and asked him about this, to get an update on his recruitment and if he is still hearing from Capel.
