For the second time this season, the Robert Morris women’s basketball team came down to the end but this time they were able to make enough plays to earn a win.

Led by their defense, the Colonials (1-1) needed overtime but they pulled out a 71-68 road victory over LaSalle from the Tom Gola Arena in Philadelphia. Five players for Robert Morris finished in double figure scoring- Nkeka Ezeigbo (21 points, 12 rebounds), Nina Augustin (14 points), Laura Carraso (12), Holly Forbes (12) and Isabella Posset (10).

The Colonials sent the game to overtime when Posset went coast to coast for a layup with 0.9 seconds left to tie the game at 61. In overtime, LaSalle had a chance to tie the game but Kayla Spruill’s 3-point was off the mark and Robert Morris got the rebound and the win.

“The game was about our relentless and continuing to play even when moments got very difficult for us,” said Robert Morris head coach Charlie Buscaglia. “I’m proud of the team to continue to fight to the end, and I give LaSalle a lot of credit for how hard they played and how tough they were to handle today.”

Game Notes:
**RMU is now 21-0 under Buscaglia when scoring 70 points or more.

**The 33 forced turnovers by RMU are their most since November 15, 2011 when they forced 36 in a 78-44 win over Kent State.

**Ezeigbo is now 34 points away from becoming the 24th player in program history to score 1,000 points.

Robert Morris next game will be at the UPMC Events Center on Wednesday as they host Youngstown State.
