The magical season for the Pitt volleyball team continues, as they clinched a share of the ACC Championship for the third consecutive season on Sunday.

Both scenarios that the No. 2-ranked Panthers needed to happen did so.

First, Pitt took care of business on Senior Day by defeating Clemson in four sets (19-25, 25-16, 25-19, 25-22). Then, they needed Miami to beat second-place Notre Dame, which they did in five sets.

Junior outside hitter Kayla Lund led Pitt with a match-high 15 kills along with 15 digs. Two other Panthers who reallly excelled were Chinaza Ndee with 13 kills and senior Stephanie Williams withe eight kills and 10 digs. Other standout performers were senior Layne Van Buskirk with nine blocks, freshman setter Lexis Akeo had a match-high 32 assists and freshman Maddie Soboleski with a career-high 12 assists.

The win extended Pitt conference record to 14-0, which is the best start in program history and was their 34 consecutive win at the Fitzgerald Field House. The Panthers last loss at the Field House came on October 22, 2018 against NC State.

Next match for Pitt will take place on Saturday when they travel to Cameron Indoor Stadium to take on Duke.
