Pitt Wrestling locked down their third recruit for the class of 2020 on Thursday when Colby Whitehill, a senior from Brookville, announced his intentions to attend the University via Twitter and signed his NLI.

“The campus is beautiful… The wrestling program at Pitt is up and coming, and I’m ready to be a part of it.”

Whitehill is a heavyweight, the weight class Pitt needed to fill most. Demetrius Thomas is graduating after this season and Cole Rickert only has one year of eligibility left. Conceivably, Whitehill could redshirt next year with Rickert taking the starting job, or if Whitehill is ready, could step right in.

He was an undefeated State Champion last year, posting a record of 39-0 with 26 pins. He also placed 8th as a sophomore at the PIAA Championships with a record of 40-7. FloWrestling currently has him ranked No. 8 in the country.

Additionally, he is a Super 32 finalist and a Fargo Cadet Freestyle and Greco finalist. The coaching staff is high on him, and for good reason.

He joins Mick Burnett and Antonio Petrucelli as the other members of his class.
