We have an interesting question for you to vote on today and it deals with the Pitt and Duquesne men’s basketball teams.
This is only a hypothetical since they won’t be playing on the court this season but now that we’re a month into the season, who do you believe is a better team in 2019?
After their win over VMI last night, Duquesne (7-0) is off to their best start in 40 years. Jeff Capel’s has now won 5 games in a row following their win Tuesday night over Rutgers.
Our question to you is, if they would play this season at a neutral site, who would win: Pitt or Duquesne?

This is a no brainer. The 7-0 record is a mirage. That schedule the Dukes are playing is rated 303 in strength of schedule on KenPom. They should be unbeaten. Pitt has played 5 power teams so far and owns a 4-1 record in those games heading into the game tomorrow. You can see growth in that team. Until Duquesne plays and beats Dayton,VCU, Rhode Island, Richmond etc. I think the jury is out on them being good
Who has consistently spoiled Duquesne’s preseason record over the last 40-years? Who hasn’t Duquesne played this year? I rest my case, your honor.
Completely agree with Eddie and Pittband. Duquesne has played absolutely no one! If they played Pitt’s schedule so far, they likely have 5 losses.
Dont get me wrong I’m happy for the dukes but lets be honest pitt would be 7-0 too with that schedule
