LOUISVILLE, Ky. — “We allowed some distractions to happen and it hurt us the rest of the game.”
That was the message from Pitt head coach Jeff Capel after his Panthers’ 64-46 loss to Louisville at KFC Yum! Center on Friday. The distractions he was talking about? A controversial series of calls that ended with the Panthers assessed a common foul and a technical, giving Louisville four free points.
“We have to grow up,” Capel said. “I just think we were a little bit too emotional and we allowed the emotion of the game and situations to distract us. When you’re playing against a really good team, especially a veteran team on the road, you can’t do that. That’s where we, collectively, coaches, everyone, we have to do a better job and be in control.”

I agree with Coach Caple about distractions but: Did you ever feel like a ref had rabbit ears and was looking for a chance to call a technical foul?
