A new name has been added to the list of players that will be making an official visits to Pitt this weekend.

2020 3-star safety Buddy Mack tells Pittsburgh Sports Now that “yes sir, I’m flying up in the morning.”

If Mack’s name sounds familiar to you, back on December 3, we reported of a visit that safeties coach Cory Sanders made to him at his home in Duncan, South Carolina. At that time, Mack told me that while he appreciated Pitt’s interest in him, that he would be keeping his commitment to Charlotte.

Well after thinking about things, Mack has decided to make a visit to Pitt to at least check things out.

The Pitt coaching staff, in particular Archie Collins, spotted Mack at a prospects camp in Georgia back in June and extended him an offer. Later that month, Pitt received a few commitments from defensive backs and thought they were done recruiting that position. Since then, 3-star cornerback Tee Denson de-committed, Therran Coleman entered the transfer portal and Pitt awaits to see whether or not star safety Paris Ford will enter the 2020 NFL Draft.

Aside from Mack, Pitt is also strongly pursing Florida 3-star safety Derek Bermudez, who met with Pat Narduzzi today. Chances are Pitt would love to add both players.
