Postgame Reaction from Pitt’s Win over NIU
PITTSBURGH — It was closer than they wanted it to be, but Pitt found a way to beat Northern Illinois, finishing a 59-50 victory on a 15-0 run.
Pitt guard Trey McGowens, power forward Eric Hamilton and head coach Jeff Capel attributed the change in fortune to a change in defense and an increase in energy as the game entered crunch time.
