Another ACC freshman star will be sidelined indefinitely with an injury.

In the last two weeks, Roy Williams and North Carolina lost guards Cole Anthony and Anthony Harris both to knee injuries and Monday, it was announced Duke will be missing one of their top players.

Head coach Mike Krzyzewski said that freshman Wendell Moore would be sidelined with a broken bone in his right hand. The team announced that additional information would be released follow Moore’s surgery.

Moore injured the hand late in Saturday’s game vs. Miami diving for a loose ball.

In 14 games this season, Moore has averaged 7.4 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.1 steals and ranks fifth on the team in minutes played. Moore has been a key contributor for #2 ranked Duke (13-1) as both a starter and one of the first players off their bench.

Prior to signing with Duke, Moore was rated as the No. 29 overall player in the Class of 2019 and ESPN has him projected as the No. 40 overall player in the 2020 NBA Draft.

Once again no timetable given for how long Moore will be sideline. Pitt is scheduled to play at Duke on January 28th.
