Report: QB Phil Jurkovec Visiting Boston College



New Boston College football coach Jeff Hafley could be on the verge of landing his first major recruit.

Brian Dohn from 247 Sports is reporting that former Notre Dame quarterback Phil Jurkovec is visiting Boston College this weekend. The former four-star recruit announced earlier this week his intentions of transferring from Brian Kelly’s program.

Hafley is in the midst of rebuilding the program and Jurkovec would be a major addition. Earlier this offseason, Boston College lost their 2019 starting quarterback Anthony Brown, who entered the transfer portal.

Unless he receives a waiver from the NCAA, Jurkovec would have to sit out the 2020 season and would have two seasons of athletic eligibility remaking.

One other potential twist to this story is that Boston College’s new offensive coordinator is Pittsburgh native Frank Cignetti, Jr.
