Pitt has lost a important member of their football program.
Pittsburgh Sports Now has confirmed that Head Strength and Conditioning Coach Dave Andrews has left Pitt for a similar position with Iowa State.
Andrews was an original member of Pat Narduzzi‘s staff back in 2015 and has earned heavy recognition from Panthers players for the job he’s done with them.
Since taking over at Pitt, it’s has been routine for former Pitt players including Aaron Donald to return in the offseason to work with Andrews in the Pitt weight room.
Prior to getting hired at Pitt, Andrews was the assistant director of strength and conditioning at Notre Dame. Before that, he worked in various capacities with the University of Cincinnati and University of Illinois football programs. He is an Ohio native and an Ohio State alum.
There has been no official announcement or statement from Narduzzi and Pitt.

What am I missing?? Why leave Pitt for Iowa State??!!
I agree. I mean, I am sure Pitt could easily match the offer. Who wants to go to Iowa. It’s no mans land.
makes you wonder why
Who really knows but it’s not like it’s a more prestigious program, this is nothing more than curiosity but wonder if he got to a point where he was getting sick of working for a clown. He’s one of the best out there and this one hurts.
Does this have anything to do with our O-Lineman being as soft as room temperature butter?
This is typical Narduzzi. he has his fingerprints all over this. There is nowhere else to look at this.
So the AD has ponied up money to keep other coaches this offseason.
If Narduzzi wanted to keep him, Im sure Pitt would match.
So…..did the head coach and Andrews have a falling out?
Who wants to uproot their family unless they have to and I doubt Iowa St is throwing ridiculous $$ at him that Pitt decides to not match.
This one smells fishy. If no falling out, what’s the motivation to go to a rural Big 12 school.
