Pitt radio broadcast legend Bill Hillgrove returned to the airwaves on Saturday after missing a few weeks after undergoing back surgery.
Hillgrove has been the voice of the Pitt men’s basketball team since 1970 and is also the lead play-by-play broadcaster for Pitt football and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Hillgrove rejoined broadcast partner Curtis Aiken on 93.7 The Fan for Pitt’s game against North Carolina on Saturday.
He missed six men’s basketball games, two Steelers games and Pitt’s Quick Lane Bowl appearance while recovering. Hillgrove was replaced on Pitt basketball broadcasts by Jeff Hathhorn.
