Pitt isn’t giving up on trying to land talented Ohio 2020 kicker Ben Sauls.
Wednesday night, Sauls gave a commitment to Matt Campbell and Iowa State and it appeared as though his recruitment was closed.
But Pitt is doing everything possible to try and get Sauls to re-consider his decision.

Over the weekend, Pat Narduzzi decided to give Sauls something to consider as he offered him a full scholarship, his coach told Pittsburgh Sports Now.
A full offer wasn’t on the table before. Previously, Pitt was giving Sauls the opportunity to join Pitt as a blueshirt this season and then be added to the scholarship list for 2021. As a blueshirt, Sauls would’ve been responsible for paying his tuition for the first semester, which is no longer the case.
Pitt envisions Sauls being the replacement for senior kicker Alex Kessman and would redshirt in 2020, either way, unless Kessman suffered an injury. Iowa State is graduating their kicker so Sauls would enter the 2020 season as the starter there.
The left-footed kicker has a big leg as his three field goal conversions in 2019 were from 55, 51 and 49 yards. One of his two misses was from 57 yards.
Sauls was seriously considering Pitt but the blueshirt became an issue. Now that he has a full scholarship, will that change his mind?
