Markus Allen had a great junior season collecting 51 catches for 1,099 yards and a school record 15 touchdowns.

With that sort of productivity, it was only a matter of time before the major offers started rolling in and that’s happened this week.

In the last week, the 3-star wide receiver from Clayton, Ohio has received offers from Michigan State and then today, Allen received offers from Pitt and Michigan.

” Today means a lot to me because it shows that I can play at the highest level of football,” said Allen. “It shows that I can play at a powerhouse like Michigan and Arizona a top-notch program and conference like Pitt and the ACC.”

“Me and my mom talked, and she told me to pray every night and that I get more blessings coming my way. My coaches have been telling me just be ready because your recruiting is going to blow up soon. Ever since then I’ve been getting offers and getting offers and then he said big ones will be coming and then I got Michigan State and now Pitt and Michigan.”

Allen tells PSN that he got the news over the phone this afternoon from Randy Bates, his area recruiter. The offer didn’t come as a total shock because the two sides have been “talking a lot” and since the end of the season, Bates has visited Northmont High School four times.

Pitt is looking to add a potential young number one wideout to its depth chart and Allen has that skill set.

” I’m a go to guy,” said Allen. “You can count on me on 1st and 10 or on 4th and 9. If we get in the red zone, I like to model my game after Julio and Larry Fitzgerald, those big body receivers. When I catch the ball in the middle of the field, I like to model my game after Jarvis Landry and try to get those extra yards after contact no matter what it takes.”

In terms of unofficial visits, Allen has already visited Michigan State and plans to get to both Pitt and Michigan in March.
