SOUTH BEND, IN — Pitt will be without key reserve Ryan Murphy on Wednesday against Notre Dame for the second straight game.
Murphy has not yet fully recovered from a concussion that he suffered at practice on Jan. 30 and won’t be available for Pitt’s game in South Bend. The junior traveled with the team but came out of the locker room in street clothes about an hour before game time.
The 6-foot-2 sharpshooter has made 10-of-22 attempts from the 3-point line in his last five games. He’s averaging 10.1 points per game this season and shooting 35.6 percent from three.
The Panthers only got four points from players who came off the bench in their win on Feb. 2 at home against Miami with Murphy’s absence. Pitt also just shot 5-of-23 (21.7%) from the 3-point line in the win against the Hurricanes.
Notre Dame is also playing with a thin roster due to injuries early on in the season. The Fightin’ Irish played only six players more than ten minutes in their last home win over Georgia Tech.
Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. and will be aired on ACCN.
