Bryce McGowens, the younger brother of Pitt guard Trey McGowens and a Pitt target in the Class of 2021, has committed to Florida State.
The younger McGowens, who plays for Wren High School in Piedmont, South Carolina, had an offer from Pitt and visited the Panthers multiple times, but he’ll instead play ACC basketball against his brother at Florida State.
He also had offers to play at Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Iona, Iowa State, LSU, Maryland, Mercer, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Presbyterian, Providence, South Carolina, South Carolina Upstate, St. John’s, TCU, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, Wichita State and Xavier.
Pitt does not yet have a commit in the Class of 2021. The Panthers are only projected to have two scholarships opening, those held by current juniors Terrell Brown and Ryan Murphy.
