Coming off a win and feeling good about themselves, the Pitt Panthers didn’t play with enough fight and enough energy to defeat their next opponent.
It happened in the second game of the year against Nicholls State after beating Florida State. It happened at Miami after beating North Carolina. Wednesday night, coming off a nine-point win over Georgia Tech, the Panthers came out flat and never found an offensive rhythm in a 72-52 loss to Clemson.
“That’s something that we’ve tried to preach all year and at some point, we have to figure it out,” Jeff Capel said. “At some point, we have to figure out the things that are required to be really good. … We’re not there yet.”
