Duquesne Football Unveils Challenging 2020 Schedule

Duquesne’s 2020 football schedule will be one of Jerry Schmitt’s most challenging in his 16 seasons as head coach of the Dukes.

The Dukes will open the 2020 season with three straight road games, with two of them against FBS teams. Duquesne will start the season on Sept. 5 with a matchup in Colorado against Air Force, which is coming off a 2019 record of 11-2 and a win against Washington State in the Cheez-It-Bowl. Air Force finished the 2019 season ranked in both the AP and USA Today Coaches poll.

The following week, Schmitt’s team will travel to Ohio to take on Youngstown State, a program that will be a mainstay on the Dukes schedule for the next few seasons. The three-game road trip concludes on September 19 when Duquesne travels to South Carolina to take on Coastal Carolina.

A few highlights of Duquesne’s five-game home schedule include its home opener on September 26 against Virginia University of Lynchburg. The Duquesne/RMU rivalry will continue on Oct. 10 at Rooney Field and the home portion of the schedule concludes on Nov. 14 against Bryant.
