MOON TWP., Pa. — The news of the cancellation of March Madness has rocked the sports world including the two basketball programs at Robert Morris.
Less than 48 hours after celebrating their accomplishment of earning an automatic bid, Andy Toole’s team learned that Tuesday’s game against St. Francis would be their final one of the season.
Their team goal of competing in the men’s NCAA Tournament was ended because of the worldwide fear of the spread of the Coronavirus.
Toole met with his team Friday morning at the UPMC Events Center and afterwards, Pittsburgh Sports Now spoke with Colonials sophomore guard Jon Williams about the teams disappointment over no March Madness, Toole’s message to the team and his thoughts on an idea of allowing college seniors the opportunity to return next season.
