Despite not having the opportunity to make any recent visits, Kani Walker has whittled down his list of colleges quite a bit.

One week ago, the 3-star cornerback from Douglasville, Georgia narrowed his list of offers down to ten schools. One week later, that list has been cut in half.

Walker announced today that he’s now considering five schools and one of them is the Pitt Panthers. Walker’s final five teams (in no order) are: Pitt, Maryland, Boston College, Louisville and Georgia Tech.

A week ago, Pittsburgh Sports Now talked to Walker about what stood out to him about Pitt.

“Pitt made my top 10 because of the connection Coach Collins and I have,” Walker told Pittsburgh Sports Now. “Relationships are always important to me because if I feel like I can trust you, it will be easier for me to make a decision.

“I’ve been able to click with Coach Collins because before I transferred to Douglas County High School, we were in contact while I was a New Manchester High School, so the connection has been good for a while now.”

Walker had planned to make an upcoming visit to Pitt, which would’ve been his first, but that got postponed because of coronavirus-related travel restrictions .

“I will be going up there when things get stable with the virus, so hopefully it will be soon,” said Walker.

Walker isn’t the only player from Douglasville, Georgia that Pitt is recruiting, as they’ve also offered his teammates 2021 three-star tight end Miles Campbell, 2021 four-star DT Jonathan Jefferson, 2021 three-star DE Joshua Robinson and 2021 three-star cornerback Jaylan Harris.
