Florida 2021 G Marco Fugar Gets Virtual Tour of Pitt

Now is the time in which high school recruits would be making unofficial visits to colleges in order to learn about them both athletically and academically.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, players won’t be making visits for the foreseeable so coaches are looking for alternative ways to still try and stay active and continue to recruit these players.

For players that have already been to potential campuses and football facilities, not being able to make visits isn’t a big deal. However, with Pitt recruiting so many players from Florida, Georgia and Texas, this is a potential problem and puts them at a disadvantage.

One of the things programs are offering potential recruits is a virtual tour of their campus and football facilities.

Marco Fugar is a 2021 offensive guard from St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and was scheduled to be visiting Pitt this month. Because of the current situation, that visit isn’t happening but he recently received a virtual tour of Pitt from Pat Narduzzi.

“We were texting and coach asked me if I wanted to talk instead on the phone so I called him,” Fugar told Pittsburgh Sports Now. “We went on FaceTime and he started telling me everything about the program, the history of it and asked if I wanted to get a virtual tour.”

”Coach then showed me the football offices, the practice fields, the new room, the hangout place for all the players, some of the jerseys, the awards from the ex-players. Then Coach Partridge got on the call and started talking to me and telling me about how they really love my film and can’t wait for me to visit. I’ll be making an official visit to Pitt very soon, this summer in June.”

Obviously, Fugar would’ve rather have seen everything that Pitt has to offer in person but appreciated the virtual tour and found it to be valuable.

”I was very anxious to go there because I’m interested in Pitt,” says Fugar. “It was cool to see it now though and I’m looking forward to seeing it again in person.”

Fugar’s two Power Five offers are from Pitt and Maryland but he has serious interest in the Panthers and with this tour given by Narduzzi, they have legitimate interest in him as well.

”All of makes me feel very appreciated and Pitt is probably my top pick right now,” he said. “I’m most likely going to be making a final decision coming up this summer.”
