Robert Morris Loses Assistant Coach to Kansas State

Andy Toole is now in the market for a new assistant basketball coach.

First year assistant coach Shane Southwell is returning home to Kansas State to join Bruce Weber’s program, Pittsburgh Sports Now has confirmed. The news was first reported by CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein.

Southwell joined Toole’s program last August after serving as a grad assistant for Weber at Kansas State. Aside from coaching there, Southwell graduated from Kansas State in 2013 and was a member of their program when they produced back-back 25 win seasons for the first time in Kansas State history.

Weber was in need of an assistant coach after Brad Korn left to become head coach at Southeast Missouri State.

Southwell replaced former Pitt guard Tray Woodall on the Robert Morris staff. Woodall just completed his first season as an assistant at St. Bonaventure.
