Former Pitt guard Trey McGowens has released a top eight schools that he is considering while in the NCAA transfer portal, none of which are in the ACC.

McGowens’ list released on Twitter on Monday included Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Seton Hall, TCU and Xavier.

A Wren, South Carolina native, most of those options would take McGowens closer to home.

The 6-foot-4 guard told Pittsburgh Sports Now that he’s looking for an opportunity to play more point guard than he did with the Panthers.

McGowens averaged 11.6 points per game over two seasons at Pitt, mostly serving as the team’s starting shooting guard.

Pitt still has two open scholarships for the 2020-21 season to fill thanks to the departures of McGowens and fellow guard Ryan Murphy.
