Pitt Target JaDun Michael Commits to Elon

Published

on

Class of 2020 wing and Pitt target JaDun Michael has committed to Elon, he announced on Monday morning.

Michael, a 6-foot-5 wing who was originally signed to play at Wichita State, was released from his letter of intent and re-opened his commitment on March 30.

Since then, Michael had multiple conversations with the staff Pitt, and had the Panthers in his top eight, along with Cincinnati, Eastern Carolina, Elon, NC State, Penn State, Texas A&M and Virginia.

Being able to play closer to home was a large reason Michael gave for wanting to change his decision to go Wichita State, and Elon is right down the road from his Burlington, North Carolina home.

Michael is rated as the No. 108 player in the Class of 2020 by 247 Sports’ composite ratings and the No. 4 player in North Carolina.

The Phoenix finished the 2019-20 season 13-21 and in seventh place in the Colonial Athletic Association.

Pitt has two open scholarships following the transfers of shooting guards Trey McGowens to Nebraska and Ryan Murphy to Tulane.

The Panthers remaining top targets include Erie small forward Will Jeffress, potentially reclassifying Malian center Adama Sanogo, Canadian guard Karim Mane and Rice shooting guard transfer Trey Murphy III.

Can’t blame him. Our world is no longer the same. When the next virus or government made disaster happens he will be close to home and not far from his parents etc. If I was a parent I would love that my kid played local and he will be a stud at Elon. Can’t blame Capel on this one
