The fear of COVID-19 is impacting more local athletic events in the future.

The Pitt athletic department announced on Friday that all Pitt sports summer camps scheduled during the months of May and June, along with all residential camps scheduled in May, June, July and August have been cancelled. As of now, the July and August camps are still scheduled to take place.

The sports camps impacted by this decision are: three Pitt football camps (Rising Star Camp, Specialists Camp, Team Offensive Line and 7-on-7 Camp), baseball, basketball, diving, soccer, strength & conditioning, swimming, track & cross country, wrestling, cheer, gymnastics, lacrosse, softball, volleyball and band.

“Pitt Athletics will continue to monitor the guidelines set forth by the University of Pittsburgh, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO) regarding events and gatherings,” the school said in a press release. “The safety of our campers, student-athletes and coaches remains our highest priority and will dictate future scheduling decisions.

The Pitt Sports Camps Office will be in touch with all students that have pre-registered in regards to refunds or transferring your registration funds to other camps in the 2020 calendar year. If you have any questions, please email: pittsportscamp@athletics.pittedu.

This is the quiet way to tell us that there will not be a football season this year. The decisions are already made but won’t be announced to later a later date to delay the ultimate revolution against these tyrants. With a death rate of .0001 with this virus you have to wonder what really is up.
