Jeff Capel’s program remains alive in its pursuit of four-star center Adama Sanogo.
As first reported by The Athletic’s Andrew Slater, Sanogo reduced his previous list of 10 schools down to a top six that consists of Auburn, UConn, Maryland, Nebraska Pitt and Seton Hall.
Sanogo (6-foot-9, 250 pounds) is considered one of the top 75 juniors in the country and someone that will be able to contribute immediately at whatever program he eventually selects. The strength of Sanogo’s game is his physical presence in the paint, where’s he considered one of the top rebounders in the entire country.
Technically, Sanogo is still a junior at the Patrick School (New Jersey), but he’s expected to re-classify to the Class of 2020 later this summer.
As Pittsburgh Sports Now reported last week, Capel conducted a Virtual Zoom call with Sanogo last week, where he tried to sell him on his ability to make an immediate impact with the Panthers, considering their struggles with rebounding last season.
PSN has been told that Sanogo is expected to make his college decision within the month.
