Die-Hards: Who Could Be the Next to Commit to Pitt?

Published

on

It’s been a while since Pitt football fans have been able to get a “Pat Signal” twitter alert.

To be exact, the latest signal from Pat Narduzzi that the Panthers received a commitment for their current Class of 2021 came back on Jan. 20, from Philadelphia defensive back Javon McIntyre.

Probably because of the rash of commitments throughout college football over the last few weeks, it might seem like the Panthers recruiting is behind previous seasons, but that’s not the case.

At this time last year, Pitt had gotten verbal commitments from Sam Williams, Michael Statham and Jaylon Barden, which all came in the month of April. In terms of their Class of 2019, Pitt hadn’t even received their first verbal commitment yet. That was the year in which they received 11 verbals commitments in the month of June.

So, while things might seem like they’re behind, that’s not the case and Pitt is most likely on the verge of receiving a few commitments.

The question now is from who will that commitment come from?

We here at Pittsburgh Sports Now get asked that specific question a lot since here are a few games to keep an eye on in terms of players that might eventually commit to Pitt.
