Pitt WR/KR Maurice Ffrench Signs with Kansas City Chiefs

Pitt wide receiver and kick returning Maurice Ffrench will sign with the reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent, Pittsburgh Sports Now has learned.

Ffrench was a multi-faceted threat over four years with the Panthers, scoring touchdowns as a receiver, ballcarrier and kick returner and setting the program’s all-time receptions leader as a senior.

In 2019, Ffrench grabbed 96 balls, breaking Larry Fitzgerald’s Pitt record for receptions, for 850 yards and four touchdowns.

In his four-year career, he had 2,016 yards from scrimmage and 2,832 all-purpose yards, despite spending most of his freshman season as a cornerback after coming to the Panthers out of New Brunswick, New Jersey.

Ffrench saved one of his best performances at Pitt for his finale, making 12 catches for 165 yards and a touchdown while breaking Fitzgerald’s record in Pitt’s Quick Lane Bowl victory over Eastern Michigan.

Ffrench is the first Pitt player to sign as an undrafted free agent following the 2020 NFL Draft, where teammate Dane Jackson and former teammate Ben DiNucci were both selected.
