Former Kittanning, Penn State TE Nick Bowers Signs with Las Vegas Raiders

Former Kittanning, Penn State TE Nick Bowers Signs with Las Vegas Raiders

Former Kittanning and Penn State tight end Nick Bowers signed with the Las Vegas Raiders as an undrafted free agent on Sunday.

Bowers, a 6-foot-4, 260-pound tight end and h-back from Kittanning, Pa., spent five seasons with the Nittany Lions before signing with the Raiders.

He played in three of those five seasons, redshirting in 2015 and missing 2016 with an injury. In his Lions career, Bowers made 17 catches for 279 yards and five touchdowns, while playing behind Mike Gesicki, now with the Miami Dolphins, and Pat Freiermuth.

Bowers graduated from Kittanning in the spring of 2015, the final graduating class of the school before it merged with Ford City to form Armstrong High School.

As a senior for Kittanning, Bowers caught 32 passes for 503 yards and scored 10 touchdowns.

He’ll join a group of Raiders tight ends that also includes recently signed start Jason Witten and veteran Darren Waller.

He originally committed to Pitt but flipped to PSU. Too bad he didn’t stick with us. He certainly wouldn’t have been riding the pine his last two seasons.
