Mark Cuban Says He Wants to Save The O

Published

on

As soon as the news broke last month that Oakland’s Original Hot Dog Shop had closed, one of the first cries for help to keep the legendary eatery running went to Mark Cuban.

Cuban is a billionaire Pitt alum that owns the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA and is an investor on the ABC show Shark Tank.

Thursday, Cuban responded to that call for help, saying that he is attempting to purchase the business.

“We’re not done trying to buy the Dirty O,” Cuban said on The Pat McAfee Show on Thursday. “We’re still out there trying to find a way to buy it. It’s not over for all those Pittsburghers out there.”

The restaurant has been closed since early April. Cuban said that negotiations with the previous owners have been difficult.

“I’m trying,” he said. “They’re making it hard. They closed. They’re over-negotiating. So we’ll see what happens.”

Pittsburgh Sports Now has been unable to get in touch with the restaurant’s owners. The building has been listed for rent.

Went to IU?
Get him an honorary degree from Pitt and let him speak at commencement when he saves the “O”.

He is a grandstanding sell out. He sold out the NBA on national tv back on March 11. He has Zero intention of buying the O.
