Robert Taylor was one of three juniors to receive an offer on Thursday from Andy Toole and the Robert Morris basketball program.

Taylor (6’7”, 208) is from Brooklyn, New York but attends St. Mark’s School in Southborough, Massachusetts. Along with the Colonials, Taylor also holds offers from UMass, Holy Cross, Northeastern, Boston University, Stony Brook and Cal Poly.

“My assistant coach from my AAU program introduced me to Robert Morris and they liked my game,” said Taylor. “They like the way I play freely, can play positions 2 thru 4, and how I set the tone on the floor.”

”I know that Robert Morris won their conference championship and my friend Cam goes there and has been telling me a lot about it. I also know someone who goes to St. Francis of Brooklyn and he told me how stacked and solid Robert Morris is and how the style they play is different from any other schools they play in the conference.”

Last season, Taylor was named NEPSAC All League Class B after averaging 21 points, 13 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. Because of length and versatility, he’s an ideal modern day wing.

”My strengths are my ability to score and rebound,” Taylor told Pittsburgh Sports Now. “Being able to shoot off the dribble is something that I’ve developed in my game a lot. Also, the way I’m able to handle the ball isn’t normal for sometime my size, which makes me a threat.”

“I really miss playing right now, I wanted to be playing AAU but I’m proud and grateful of the offers I’ve received. I believe that I’ve worked hard for a very long time at this, my parents are extremely proud of me for what I’ve been doing and what I’ve become. I’m just really looking forward to what’s next to be honest.”

Speaking of the future, Taylor believes his position in college will be either a shooting guard or small forward. In terms of getting serious about his recruiting and making visits, he like all high school athlete is just waiting for the green light yo he allowed to travel to different campuses.

”When I received my first offer, my dad said that we need to start planning visits and stuff like that. I definitely believe that Robert Morris is one of the schools I want to visit. I love the campus and really want to see the facilities and get a chance to be around the coaching staff and players. Robert Morris most definitely is in the mix.”
