2021 Pitt Commit Khalil Anderson Elevated to 4-Star Recruit

Pat Narduzzi and company have put together a talented 2021 recruiting class and we have another example to prove just that.

Late last season, a number of players in Pitt’s Class of 2020 were elevated to 4-star recruits in the 247 Sports Composite. The same thing could happen this year as we now have a player in their Class of 2021 that’s been bumped up by the recruiting service.

Cornerback Khalil Anderson (Atlanta, Georgia) was moved up to a 4-star recruit by 247 Sports and is now ranked as one of the Top 20 cornerbacks in the nation. Considering the deep level of talent in the state, it’s also impressive that Anderson is rated as the #20 overall junior in Georgia.

It looks like the national analysts are seeing what Archie Collins and Pitt already knew and that Anderson has elite talent, a big reason why Pitt was very happy to beat out Michigan State for his services. Considering the starters that the Panthers defense is losing following this season, Anderson will have a chance to make an immediate impact in 2021.

When examining Anderson’s game, his athleticism, explosiveness and ball skills really stand out. Earlier this week, PSN‘s Nick Farabaugh provided a complete breakdown of Anderson’s game tape.

Anderson joins DE Nahki Johnson as Pitt’s second 4-star recruit in this recruiting class. However, it’s very possible and actually likely that a couple other future Panthers will have their recruiting profile moved to 4-star status before the end of the year.

In terms of overall team rankings, Pitt is currently ranked #22 by Rivals and #25 by 247 Sports (but that ranking hasn’t yet been adjusted to indicate the change in Anderson’s rating).
