Central Catholic 4-Star DT Elliot Donald Closing In On Decision?

Published

on

Elliot Donald is a player that Pitt fans have had their eyes on for many months, wondering when he’ll make his college decision.

After a tweet from Donald last night, it looks like they could be getting the answer to their question soon.

Because of the family ties along with his high ranking and athletic ability, Donald is a player that the Pitt coaching staff and fan base very much want to add to their recruiting class.

Donald (6’3″, 250) is a 4-star recruit and rated as one of the Top 100 juniors in the country by both Rivals and 247 Sports. In fact, Rivals currently has him as the 82nd ranked player in the Class of 2021.

Due to the inability of making visits, Donald’s recruiting has been in a hold pattern. Programs in his top eight that he’s been able to see in person are Pitt, Penn State, West Virginia and Ohio State. Other schools that Donald listed amongst his finalists last August are Notre Dame, LSU, Michigan and Texas A&M.

Pat Narduzzi’s 2020 defensive line is very talented but many of those pieces (Patrick Jones II, Keyshon Camp, Rashad Weaver) will be graduating and Narduzzi is hoping that the hometown talent of Donald, Dayon Hayes, Nahki Johnson and (the currently uncommitted) Dorien Ford will be the Pitt defensive line of the future.

Other than what was tweeted, PSN hasn’t been able to get any other indication from Donald as to a specific date for his commitment.
