Although they were a finalist for him, Pitt ultimately fell short in their efforts to add a big-time pass rusher to the program.
Class of 2021 four-star DE/LB Naquan Brown made a commitment this afternoon to the defending national champion, LSU Tigers. Brown becomes LSU’s 13th commitment and 11th four-star recruit for their Class of 2021. Brown is currently ranked as the No. 133 overall player in Rivals Class of 2021 player rankings.
Chris Beatty and the Pitt staff did a strong job of recruiting Brown but in the end, the draw of playing for the National Champions and playing in the SEC were too much for Brown to pass on.

Pitt was hoping to add Brown and Central Catholic 4-star DT Elliot Donald to a young group of talented defensive lineman like Nahki Johnson, Dayon Hayes, Trevion Stevenson and Emmanuel Belgrave. With Brown no longer an option, Pitt will continue to work on getting a commitment from Donald, who indicated recently that he could be close to making his college decision.
