Pitt Rises to No. 26 in Recruiting Rankings After Renda’s Commitment

The latest addition to Pitt’s Class of 2021 became official Monday night as IMG Academy tight end Jake Renda flipped from Michigan State to the Panthers.

The three-star recruit joins Trey Anderson as the second tight end in Pitt’s recruiting class and their 19th overall commitment.

The addition of Renda moved Pitt up in the Rivals 2021 team recruiting rankings. The Panthers now find themselves 26th, which is one spot ahead of Penn State and just one point beyond Texas A&M for 25th and eight points behind 24th Arkansas.

This class represents a nice jump in the recruiting rankings for Pitt, considering they finished 44th for their Class of 2020 and 49th for their Class of 2019.

Considering they can still add as many as 6 more players this year, Pitt has a chance to jump even further and cement a spot in the 20’s. The last time Pitt finished ranked in the Rivals Top 20 Recruiting Rankings was 2016, when they were #29.

“Considering they can still add as many as 6 more players this year, Pitt has a chance to jump even further and cement a spot in the 20’s.”

PITT is in the 20’s already, #26.

“The last time Pitt finished ranked in the Rivals Top 20 Recruiting Rankings was 2016, when they were #29.”

That would have made PITT NINE SPOTS OUT OF THE TOP TWENTY.
