Pitt will face two opponents ranked in the 2020 Associated Press Top 25 preseason poll, which was released on Monday, and both of them are ranked in the top 10.

The Panthers will visit No. 1 Clemson and play host to No. 10. Four other Pitt opponents — Virginia Tech, Miami, Louisville and Florida State — were amongst those receiving votes. The Panthers did not earn any vote points.

No. 10 Notre Dame will come to Heinz Field on Oct. 24, while the Panthers will visit the No. 1 Tigers to end the regular season on Nov. 28.

The first AP poll of the 2020 season including all teams, regardless of whether or not they intend to play this fall. If excluding the non-playing teams, Notre Dame would be ranked seventh, Virginia Tech No. 18, Miami No. 19 and Louisville No. 20.

Ohio State is ranked second in the poll, followed by Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma, LSU, Penn State, Florida, Oregon and Notre Dame to round out the top ten.

The SEC has the most teams in the Top 25 with seven. The Big Ten, which is not playing this fall, has five, the Big 12 four, and the Pac-12 and ACC have three, with North Carolina joining Clemson and Notre Dame. The AAC has two ranked teams.
