Pitt suffered a big loss when All-American defensive tackle candidate Jaylen Twyman decided to opt out of playing in the 2020 season.
One of the big reasons that head coach Pat Narduzzi seems confident in the rest of that unit is the play of redshirt sophomore defensive tackle Devin Daneilson. The Thomas Jefferson product played in all 13 games in 2019, making 12 tackles and showing that he has more to give. Now, he may be asked to take on a starting role.
