Pitt defenders Cam Bright and Rashad Weaver have won ACC awards after their performances in Pitt’s 21-10 win over Syracuse on Saturday.
Bright was named the ACC’s Linebacker of the Week after recording a career-high 10 tackles to lead the Panthers, along with 2.5 tackles for loss, a half sack and a forced fumble.
Weaver was named the ACC Co-Defensive Lineman of the Week. He had two sacks, three tackles for loss and seven tackles overall. His second sack came on a crucial fourth down late in the game.
Overall, Pitt sacked the Syracuse quarterbacks seven times on the afternoon and held the Orange to 51 yards rushing and 171 yards of total offense.
Bright and Weaver are the first Pitt players to win ACC weekly awards in the 2020 season.
