The Pitt Panthers football program continues to put players on the rosters of NFL teams.
Former tight end Nakia Griffin-Stewart, who transferred to Pitt from Rutgers, signed this afternoon with the Green Bay Packers and was placed on their practice squad.

This is the second team from the NFC North that Griffin-Stewart has been on since graduating from Pitt. Following the 2020 NFL Draft, Griffin-Stewart signed with the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent but was cut during training camp.
In 32 career games with Rutgers and Pitt, Griffin-Stewart caught 32 passes for 282 yards (8.8 yards/catch) and 2 touchdowns.
Griffin-Stewart becomes the third former Pitt tight end currently on an NFL roster, joining Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad member Matt Flanagan and J.P. Holtz of the Chicago Bears.
Hope he catches better than he did for Pitt. He hand stone hands and did not make many catches
He was the worst tight end I have ever seen.
