PSN Poll Question: Biggest Individual Storyline From Pitt’s 3-0 Start

Published

on

The No. 24-ranked Pitt Panthers will look to remain undefeated this Saturday as they host NC State (1-1) for a noon kickoff at Heinz Field.

Their 3-0 start is the first time they’ve accomplished this under Pat Narduzzi and only the 5th time since 1990, the last being in 2014 under Paul Chryst. The Panthers will be favorites in the next 2 games so they have a legitimate chance to start the 2020 season with a record of 5-0.

To this point, the Panthers dominating defense is the reason for the quick start but they’ve also had some interesting individual storylines. How about the defense playing this well without All-American defensive tackle Jaylen Twyman and starting cornerback Damarri Mathis or the dominating duo of Rashad Weaver and Patrick Jones or the performance of true freshman Jordan Addison?

Our PSN Poll Question is which of those has been the biggest story line of Pitt’s season?

What's the biggest storyline from Pitt's 3-0 start?

Their depth on D-Line, and at the wide receiver position is impressive. They have also upgraded at team speed.

I would say just how dominant the defense had been in general. We knew they’d be good but this is like national championship Alabama level good. I also don’t know if I’d refer to Addison as a phenom yet. That’s a bit strong.

Biggest storyline is how the offense still can’t score touchdowns against FBS competition, even with continuity at QB and on the OL. If it doesn’t change this PITT team will not reach its potential.
